Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often about BHV training, certification, and safety support across Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire, and St. Maarten.

BHV stands for In-House Emergency Response. It prepares designated employees to provide first aid, respond to a developing fire, support evacuation, and assist until professional emergency services arrive.
Legal requirements vary by island, industry, workplace, and risk profile. Every employer is responsible for providing a safe working environment and appropriate emergency preparedness. BHV Caribbean can help you assess the practical training, procedures, and equipment your organization may need.
Our BHV Basic training is typically delivered over two days. It combines theory, practical exercises, and assessment in First Aid, CPR/AED, fire response, and evacuation.
BHV Caribbean is affiliated with NIBHV. Participants who successfully complete the applicable course and assessment receive the relevant certificate or diploma.
Where an NIBHV diploma applies, it is valid for one year. We recommend annual BHV Refresher training to keep knowledge, skills, and certification current.
BHV Basic is the initial training for new emergency response team members. BHV Refresher updates and practises existing skills. We also offer First Aid at Work, Fire Drills, Fire Fighting and Evacuation training, BHV Team Leader training, and BHV Team Coordinator training.
Participants should be able to take part safely in practical exercises. Please let us know in advance if a participant has a medical, mobility, or accessibility consideration so we can discuss the most suitable arrangement.
Pricing depends on the selected course, number of participants, location, and your organization’s requirements. Your personalized quote clearly states the course scope and what is included.
